As one of the Senior Managing Directors and owners of Schechter for the past 20 years, Jason Zimmerman is responsible for helping to define the strategic direction of the firm. Schechter is primarily focused in the areas of investment alternatives, private capital, life insurance-based planning solutions and employee benefits. He also manages relationships with referring and strategic partners such as insurance professionals, banks, CPAs and money managers to help further grow our advanced life insurance planning area. In addition, Jason works directly with the firm’s clients and their advisors in the execution of sophisticated solutions in wealth accumulation and preservation, wealth transfer and charitable giving. He has earned extended designations that help clients with financial planning , income taxation, retirement planning, business succession, investments and estate planning.

Jason has been a top independent producer for multiple industry leading carriers, including Penn Mutual, Midland National, Pacific Life, Prudential, Lincoln, and others. He frequently speaks at industry symposiums and conferences around the country, sharing Schechter’s philosophy, innovative insurance-related strategies, and tailored advisory offerings to high net worth clients.

Jason is actively involved in a number of professional organizations, including NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors), AALU (Association for Advanced Life Underwriting), AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and serves on the board of the Dr. Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic.

Jason is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Fordham University in New York.

Jason and his wife Rachel have three children and two dogs and reside in Huntington Woods, Michigan. They are active in numerous community and charitable organizations.
